well depends on where your going, what currency you have, how much do you have to spend, overall meals at just basic places not actually big fancy restaurants can be pretty cheap and beer prices vary from place to place cheapest place to buy beer is 7-11, but some places do have happy hour also and prices can be cheaper to.
I just came back on Sunday after 3 weeks. A beer will cost you between 70 - 80 bht in bars maybe 100 bht in the clubs. a main dish say stir fry Chicken or Pork 90 - 100 bht
Prawns is about 120 -150 bht and rice 30 bht.
motorbike is approx 250 bht a day.

Beer varies depending on where you go but a rough estimate is between 30 and 60 baht a bottle, which is .50p to £1.20. Meals very reasonable, you can eat on the street stalls for as little as 20 to 30 baht [40-50p] In ordinary restaurants it is difficult to spend more than a fiver a head, of course there are more expensive restaurants if you want them.Generally everything is cheaper than Europe or the USA [hotels, car hire, fuel clothes, shoes etc..]. Have a great time it's a beautiful place.
Beer is pretty much the same price anywhere in the world.
As for food, Thai food is great and cheap. The best meals I ever had in Thailand were from little carts on the street. Pad Thai for $0.50 yum!
It really all depends where you go. You can eat from the street markets (which has to be the tastiest and perfectly safe) for a couple of pounds. Beers are about £1-£1.50 again depending on where you go. If you visit clubs and strip bars you will pay so much more for drinks.
I have visited Thailand for the last 4 years and in 2 weeks only spend £400 approx.

beer could be 50 baht at a beer bar to 150 baht at a go go.in land of smiles you can pay as much as you like for 5 stars dining but still half the price of where you live.you can also buy a great bowl of noodle soup for 50 baht unless you have a thai friend with you then you will pay thai price, the prices are different,thai pay thai price others pay farang price dont worry about it, this is thailand.do not be scared to try the local food of a food cart,rice and fish beautiful.phuket is one of the dear places in thailand but not by much,
It depends largely on where will you have the meal. If it's a normal "street sides" places, then it can be around 25 - 60 Baht a meal and beer would be around 30 Baht a can.
But if you go to an A-list restaurant, be prepared to see the highest price possible (could be up to 5000 baht a Meal per person).
i was in thailand 4 years ago i couldnt spend my money it was so cheap food is next 2 nothing a haircut is about 30 pence a beer then was 50 p , and a meal for 4 people with all the trimmings about 15 quid
Can't be that expensive.
